On Sunday December 17th the halls of the Morris-Jumel Mansion were filled with joyful women from Upper Manhattan. Thank you to everyone who attended and everyone who supported us. This has been an amazing experience, we are so excited for what 2024 will bring. We wish everyone a happy & healthy holiday season and a happy new year! We will see you all soon!
What a wonderful celebration! Looking back at what we have “built together” and “created for one other” this year was a gift in itself. I couldn’t imagine anything better than this… and then a couple ladies decided we should host a party. I am still smiling from ear to ear thinking about Sunday’s Morris-Jumel Mansion party.
This idea for the holiday party began to form when Chandra found a women’s health champion to speak at our December gathering. Patricia insisted we find public spaces to gather, and when she mentioned the Morris-Jumel Mansion, in need of attention & fundraising, we knew she found the perfect place. So Chandra, Patricia & I, we got to work.
When we gather together, and take time to nurture ourselves and our relationships with fellow women - plans for a brighter future inevitably begin to form. Upper Manhattan ladies, we filled the halls with joy, and hope for a beautiful new year.
Friends who haven’t seen each other since the pandemic were reunited at the Morris-Jumel Mansion over the weekend. Partnerships were formed between women’s organizations. Projects intended to lift our community up found a house filled with volunteers. Ladies Lemonade forged the start of a beautiful friendship with like-minded social groups. The Morris-Jumel Mansion was patroned by woman across northern Manhattan.
Thank you to everyone who attended our gathering. To everyone who could not make it to the party, we are grateful for your support!
Our assignment for the new year is to ask ourselves, “What do I want for myself, my family, my neighborhood in 2024?”
What an exciting ride this has been! I can’t wait to see what we get up to in 2024. To think I lived in NYC for this long without having you in my life. It’s just nuts. xoxo

To our guest speaker, Jen Romanello. Thank you for introducing us to “reproductive psychiatry”. I have never seen a room of women stop & give someone their undivided attention with such ease. No joke. We were literally on the edge of our seats. Thank you for your time and your expertise. We hope you will come back to join us again. We will ask the women to write in their questions, and we will post the eye opening content you generously referred us to. We are all truly grateful.

You have been our strongest supporter. You were my caterer for the women’s gathering I had to cancel the week the pandemic closed NYC. Your wonderful Inwood small business made it through tough years. You are an absolute gem. Thank you for continuing to support my efforts to gather women together. I am forever grateful.

Thank you to my God-Sister for bringing a family tradition to this magical night. The pastries looked beautiful at the event, and drew everyone in… but I forgot to warn the ladies about how addicting Grandma Rispoli's recipes are. The boldness of the Rispoli women were present at our party and it felt so special & empowering. When I think of the women in my family I am reminded that our generation stands on the shoulders of the great ladies who have come before us.

Thank you to my big sister - Patricia, Chandra and I wouldn’t have made it to the event without you, literally without you driving us there! If anyone knew the chaotic morning and afternoon that preceded the party they would have wondered how we were standing upright. "Where are the raffle tickets, how many guests are staying home sick, who is standing in the rain at the gate, didn't they say they had table clothes..." - so many moments that we laugh about now, but were somehow paralyzing leading up to Show Time. Thank you to my husband, who didn’t plan to stand at the gate to welcome each of our guests, in the rain. Thank you for how supportive & respectful everyone has been, all these months. Chandra, Patricia & I appreciate you both.
We were excited to choose the Morris-Jumel Mansion as our location. We are pleased to be able to support them in their restoration projects by being patrons. There are opportunities to donate directly to the restoration of the mansion. To donate directly to the Morris-Jumel Mansion or become a member of their museum today, use the links below.
It doesn't cost much to hang out in the park, but we would like to cover the cost of our website, supplies, posters, etc... also, planning for our Holiday Party at The Morris Jummel-Mansion has begun. Any contribution is appreciated.
